This has been a big week for Peyton. She got her second set of immunization shots on Thursday. As we waited in the pediatrician's waiting room, there was another couple with two kids. One was an infant and the other was a little girl around three years old. The nursed called them in before us and the mother with infant got up. The dad asked if he could go and the nurse said, "Sure, come on in." Well, as the dad walked across with the little girl, she started crying, "No, No, NO !!" The dad replied, "Its ok, its not for you."
Funny how kids figure out that bad things happen at the doctor's office.
Well, Peyton was all smiles during the routine part of exam. Peyton can be a real charmer when she wants to be... then the needles came out. Poor thing cried out when they poked her in one leg and then poked her again in the other leg. She really only cried for a few minutes. Poor thing will get shots just about every time she visits the doctor. Pretty soon she will be crying out, "No, no, NO !!"
The next shots she got was today... but a different type of shots. We went to Sears portrait studio for her first set of professional pictures. She is right at 3 months so we wanted a good set of pictures. Peyton did soooo good. Of course, we tend to judge "good" in terms of her colic these days. But again, she can be a charmer when she wants to be. In fact, the manager loved one of her pictures so much, she asked us if they could put the picture on the wall as one of their samples.
It was so funny because we were just hoping that Peyton wouldn't be a colicky mess, but she ended up becoming a local star! We had to sign some papers to let them put her picture on display. I asked if we could get a discount since they were using her picture and they gave us two more free.
We spent the remaining time walking around the mall. It turned out to be a really nice little family day out.

Joy, the Sears shots of Peyton are beautiful! thanks for inviting me to see them. may God continue to bless, you, Arnold and Peyton as a family as you grow in and serve Him together.
I'm glad that your Sears pictures turned out so well, like the ones they have in the ads. I would highly recommend Portrait Innovations if they have one in your area. They are actually a little bit cheaper, but they are great with kids, take as much time as you need, let you change as much as you want, and they make really, really, really great high quality pics. We used them in Louisville with Mae, but we don't have one here. When we went home for Christmas, we got Cora's pics taken in Greenville. Way way worth it.
About the siblings at the doctor's office. If you want to avoid Peyton having that type of reaction when she has a younger sib, always take her in with the younger one, but have her leave with Arnold when it's time for the shots. Mae loves going to the doctor's office!

That is a great idea about the doctor's office. I am going to have to remember that.
